1894-S Barber Quarter

Mintage

Business strikes: 2,648,821

Varieties: Five mint mark positions, one centered and four are far right. No RPM’s or RPD’s reported.

Scarcity: Very similar to the 1894-0 in circulated grades, but more available in mint state.

Rarity Ratings: G/VG R2, F/VF R3, EF/AU R3, MS R3.

Ranking: 38th in mintage, 39th (tied) in certified population (100 coins), 59th in MS63 PI and 56th in Gem PI.

Comments: Comes with a better strike than the 1894-0 and bright luster, sometimes proof-like. Also, “S” mints sometimes have planchet striations. Strong collector demand in grades F to MS64.
