About The Authors

Gloria Peters was born and raised in Southern California and now calls Irvine, California her home. After returning from Virginia with her family in 1963 she pursued a career in Probation and Social Services and completed her degree in Psychology/ Sociology at Chapman University. Hobbies and collectibles have always been major interests including stamp collecting and pocket change in the early years. She has a heightened interest for putting things together, projects and problem solving. In the 1980’s her interest turned to numismatics once again, and with friend and business partner Cindy Mohon has led to a full time second career specializing in U.S. Coins. Numismatics continues to provide the excitement of discovery, history and intrigue necessary for a satisfying career. She is editor of Winning Ways, the publication for Women In Numismatics, among other endeavors.

A lifelong interest in anything collectible as well as a fierce love of research are the motivation for Cindy Mohon’s numismatic career. Currently she is a part-time dealer (yes, she still has her regular job!) and co-owner of P & M Rare Coins with Gloria Peters. Cindy is an enthusiastic student of coins and history. A graduate of California State University at Fullerton with extensive graduate coursework, Cindy works for Orange County Social Services in California as a Senior Social Worker. Her goals are to pursue further numismatic research, to write and to become a more knowledgeable numismatist every year
