Auction #1075 Lots Posted. Browse & Bid Now!

Our Sunday Internet Auction #1075 offers a key date Indian Cent, a key Buffalo Nickel, a near perfect Proof Seated Quarter, a finest known Proof Seated Dollar, a better date S-Mint $20 Liberty Gold piece and a countless number of PCGS, NGC, and CAC-certified pieces. In all, there’s a vast selection of over 400 New Items, featuring 100 No Reserve lots and 25 Vault Value items. All lots will begin closing at 8pm EST on Sunday, July 28th.

You may see a few differences in this week’s auction as we’ve been making a gradual progression towards something that’s been requested by many of our long-time customers. We’ve always striven for transparency at DLRC, and in an effort to make our little corner of numismatics even more transparent, we have removed all of the hidden reserves from the coins in this week’s auction. Whether the coin is consigned, owned by us, or just showed up on our doorstep yesterday (yes that did happen), we’ve pushed the boundaries and have made everything fully transparent in the bidding process. So, we hope that you’ll appreciate this trend and if you want to find out more about it, see tomorrow’s Coins We Love Message!

Some of the more interesting highlights from this week's sale include:

Our first highlight is an 1877 1c PCGS MS65 RB. The key to the Indian cent set and desired by nearly all collectors of U.S. coins, this lovely red gem example has deep red fields and wonderful overall eye appeal. Far more Red than Red-Brown, this piece is ideal for the collector.

This week's second highlight is a 1937-D 3 Legged 5c PCGS/CAC MS65+. A frosty, lustrous gem example of this 20th Century rarity, the pastel iridescent tones highlight the overall fantastic eye appeal. Truly beautiful with satiny fields and the lightest tint of gold on the mirrors makes this piece stand out amongst similar examples. It is a scarce and very popular variety, highly sought after by even non-Buffalo nickel collectors.

The third highlight is an 1884 25c NGC Proof 69 CAM. This amazingly beautiful piece is tied with one other of this date and only four others for the entire type as the finest graded. A true ultra gem in every aspect, the coin is absolutely flawless and deserving of the title of Museum Quality. It's hard to imagine a piece coming off the press with a more spectacular appearance! Mintage of just 875 coins struck in proof format.

This week's fourth highlight is an 1845 $1 NGC Proof 67 ex: Pittman. This piece is bested by no other examples for the date. Hailing from a mintage of just 15 pieces, it is also extremely rare. Brilliant blue, rose, and golden highlights, the surfaces sing to the collector as being one of the most delightful Proof Seated Dollars that we've seen in-hand. Described by David Akers in his catalog of the Pittman Collection as, "The finest proof Seated Dollar from the decade," this piece is historically important and the pedigree can be traced back to Waldo Newcomer and F.C.C. Boyd.

The final highlight is an 1879-S $20 PCGS/CAC MS62 ex: D.L. Hansen Collection, AWA. Beautiful example of this scarcer San Francisco Mint Issue Double Eagle with plenty of luster that is CAC approved for quality.

Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, July 28th.
