Our first highlight coin is an 1806/5 25c PCGS MS63 ex: D.L. Hansen. Deep tones of rose, blue-green, and violet enhance the already impressive eye appeal of this example. The overdate is clear and visible without magnification. The Hansen Collection possess an MS64+ example for the date.
This week's second highlight is an 1838 25c PCGS/CAC MS65+ (No Drapery). Scarce first year No Drapery issue with beautiful remaining mint frost and gorgeous rose and lavender toning cascading into golden centers. Wonderfully original with only three pieces graded finer by PCGS.
The third highlight coin is an 1884 $3 PCGS Proof 65 DCAM ex: D.L. Hansen. Frosty pale gold devices standout dramatically from sharp, reflective mirrors. Boldly struck throughout. Tremendous eye appeal. The primary Hansen Collection set displays a PR67CAM example for the date.
The fourth highlight coin is an 1844-O $5 PCGS/CAC MS63+. An absolutely stunning example of this popular New Orleans issue from a lower mintage issue of 364,600 coins struck. The only piece graded finer (MS65) by PCGS is a historic example that has resides in the Hansen Collection. This beautiful, stunning coin is certainly appearing of a higher grade, but with the overall eye appeal, strike, and beautifully contrasting mirrors, there's no need for such chicanery. A gorgeous, historic piece that can simply not be improved upon for the date!
Our fifth highlight is an 1888 $5 PCGS/CAC Proof 65 DCAM. Enchantingly deep mirrors flash and give stark contrast to frosty yellow-gold devices. Astonishing eye appeal with CAC approval for quality.
The sixth highlight coin is a 1914-D $10 PCGS MS66+. Gorgeous and exceedingly well-struck example. Booming luster beams intensely from both sides and brings out the rose and tangerine undertones. Fantastic eye appeal! Slightly better date. Only four pieces are graded finer by PCGS!
Our final highlight coin is an 1857-S $20 PCGS MS66 ex: D.L. Hansen. Exceptionally preserved gem from the historic shipwreck. Dazzling honey-gold surfaces with frosty luster throughout. Extraordinary eye appeal! The Hansen Collection displays another example of the same grade in the number one set.
Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, December 29th.
