D.L. Hansen Collection Highlights
Our first highlight coin is an 1877 1c PCGS/CAC MS66 RB. The key to the Indian cent set and desired by nearly all collectors of U.S. coins. Satiny surfaces glow with mint luster and stunning amounts of red. Impeccable details, extremely high end for the grade. Tied for finest RB example with six others and one of only two with CAC approval.
This week's second highlight is an 1858 3cS PCGS/CAC Proof 66+ ex: D.L. Hansen. High-end premium gem with a needle-sharp strike. Rose gold centers yield outwardly to bands of electric blue, violet, and sea-foam green enhancing already astonishing eye appeal. From a mintage of only 300 coins, this example has CAC approval and PCGS+ grade for premium quality at the top of end of the assigned grade. The Hansen Collection number one registry set displays a finest known PR66CAM example for the date.
The third highlight coin is a 1908-D 25c PCGS MS67+. Beautiful rainbow highlights with stunning concentric circles on the obverse and reverse. The light silver-centered obverse accentuates the amazing colors that fall into the rims.
The fourth highlight coin is an 1895-O $1 PCGS/CAC MS63. Delicate russet toning over satiny mint luster that glows on both the obverse and reverse. Sharply embossed reliefs enhance the already superb eye appeal. A must-have for the advanced registry collector. The 1895-O is one of the most popular key dates in the Morgan series.
Our fifth highlight is a 1854-D $3 PCGS XF40. A choice example with flashy light golden surfaces that are well balanced with even wear and no individually significant abrasions. An exciting opportunity for the advanced collector of Southern gold. The 1854-D is the only Dahlonega issue in the $3 gold series. From a scant mintage of 1,120 coins, very few survive in high grade.
The sixth highlight oin is a 1885 $3 PCGS Proof 64 CAM ex: D.L. Hansen. Dazzling example with bold cameo contrast. Its sharply struck design elements are frosty and orange-gold mirrors flash with nice reflectivity. Outstanding eye appeal! The primary coin from the Hansen Collection number one set is a PR67CAM example.
The seventh highlight is an 1868 $10 PCGS MS60 ex: D.L. Hansen. A scarce P-mint with a tiny mintage of 10,630 coins! Beautifully preserved mint state example. Both sides are evenly worn with plenty of luster and semi-reflective fields especially flashy on the reverse. The Hansen Collection possess an MS61 PL example for the date.
The final highlight is an 1851-O $20 NGC MS61. This piece has fantastic eye appeal! It is exceptionally preserved and uncommonly smooth for the assigned grade. Rich medium gold surfaces and glossy, well-struck devices.
Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, January 5th.
