Our first highlight coin is a 1776 Continental Dollar $1 PCGS VF25 (CURENCY, Pewter, Retro OGH). nice, affordable example of this first dollar coin supposedly produced under the auspices of the Continental Congress.
This week's second highlight is a 1924-S 25c PCGS MS65+ FH ex: D.L. Hansen. Very desirable and popular key date in the Standing Quarter series. The present example features vibrant mint luster and a bold strike. Liberty's head is well-defined, the technical quality and eye appeal are both strong. The Hansen Collection possess an MS66 FH example for the date.
The third highlight coin is an 1898 50c PCGS Proof 67 CAM ex: D.L. Hansen. Superb gem example with bold cameo contrast and exceptionally detailed devices. Enchanting eye appeal! Mintage of 735 coins struck in proof format. The Hansen Collection number one set displays one of the three finest known for the date, a PR68DCAM example.
The fourth highlight coin is a 1797 $1 PCGS AU55 (10x6 Stars) ex: D.L. Hansen. Even deep gun-metal grey surfaces with attractive undertones of olive and gold. Liberty's hair is nicely defined and reaming luster surrounds the devices. Choice AU example! The Hansen Collection possess the finest known examples for the date, an MS64.
Our fifth highlight is a 1935-S $1 PCGS/CAC MS66+. etter S-mint with beautiful, silky surfaces and absolutely choice fields. Very few marks are noticeable, accounting for the high grade, this piece is absolutely stunning.
The sixth highlight oin is an 1887 G$1 NGC MS66 DPL. Only five Deep Proof Like coins have been attributed. Very low mintage issue of just 7,500 coins struck.
The seventh highlight is an 1862 $5 PCGS MS60. A very tough date in the half eagle series, the 1862 was produced to a mintage of just 4,430 pieces. Scarce in all grades, only three pieces are graded finer by PCGS with a single NGC grading event finer.
Our eigth highlight is an 1868-S $20 PCGS MS62 ex: D.L. Hansen. Beautifully preserved example of this scarce type 2 Liberty. Pleasingly original surfaces with ample mint luster with tints of rose and tangerine. The Hansen Collection holds one of the two finest known for the date, an MS62+.
