This week we are excited to offer 70 PL, DMPL and Proof Morgan Dollars from the Peachtree Collection, Part 1. It’s been over a decade since we’ve been able to offer this expansive a selection of Proof Morgans, and we are positive that these stunning examples will astound you. Key items such as the 1895 $1 PCGS Proof 67 Deep Cameo (Secure) ex: Coronet, 1899 $1 NGC Proof 68 ex: Eliasberg, 1878 7TF $1 PCGS Proof 65 Cameo (Reverse of 1878, Retro OGH), 1904 $1 NGC Proof 68 and many others will be available at the ANA Orlando Show for lot viewing this week.

Some of the more interesting highlights from this week's sale include:

This week's highlight selection is an 1895 $1 PCGS Proof 67 Deep Cameo (Secure) ex: Coronet. The 1895 Morgan has long been considered the Kings of Morgan Dollars. The proof-only mintage of only 880 coins was already recognized by coin dealers at the end of the 19th century as being a key date coin of monumental rarity. While there have been people over the years that have claimed some of the alleged 12,000 documented business strike mintage exists, it has since been proven that the number was an accounting error at the Mint and was composed of a previous year's mintage. Thankfully for collectors, this proof-only date is almost exclusively known with a near perfect strike, deep liquid mirrors, and strong cameo contrast. The present example exhibits all of those traits to their fullest potential, and the surfaces are largely untoned save for a few select places of rose and magenta color around the rims. The slightest of hairlines on the highest point of the cheekbone, possibly from cabinet or album storage, account for the grade. PCGS has certified only five coins in this grade with a single PR68DCAM known, while NGC has certified six coins in this grade and five examples in 68DCAM.

Our second auction highlight is a 1915 $10 PCGS/CAC MS65+. It is a slightly better date with only 351,000 coins minted of this issue. It's very tough to find in gem condition, especially with the coveted CAC sticker of approval.

The third and final highlight selection is a 1904 $1 NGC Proof 68. The last year of regular proof issues for the Morgan set and we see this date less frequently than many others. Mintage of just 650 coins struck in proof format.

Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, March 19th.
