Auction #962 Lots Posted. Browse & Bid Now!

Our Sunday Internet Auction #962 is now live with a great selection of over 380 fresh, new coins, 50 No Reserve lots and 25 Vault Value items. All lots will begin closing at 8pm EST on Sunday, May 28th.

We are super excited to offer the Top Hat Collection of Standing Liberty Quarters in Auction #962. The Top Hat Collection boasts a complete set of SLQ’s including many duplicate dates.  The 125 selections include various grades of the key date 1916, the popular 18/7 Overdate, 1923-S & 1924-S issues and many others.  This is a great opportunity to add to or upgrade your current SLQ collection as we rarely are able to offer this type of quality and quantity of this popular series at one time.

Some of the more interesting highlights from this week's sale include:

This week's highlight selection is a 1776 Continental Dollar $1 PCGS/CAC XF40 (CURENCY, Pewter). A fascinating example as the origin of these issues is not clear, except that it was likely rooted in the desire of the Continental Congress to disperse a monetary medium of exchange. Issued in 1776, most of these examples were made of pewter, as silver was not affordable to the fledgling government. Likely struck in three different cities, New York City, Philadelphia, and/or Lancaster, PA these are very popular issues due to their association with the Revolutionary War. This particular piece is an even gunmetal gray in color with nice remaining luster, especially around the date.

This week's second highlight coin is a 1916 Standing Liberty 25c PCGS MS63 FH.Famous and popular key date SLQ with satiny silver surfaces and nice originality. The 1916 is highly sought by all collectors of key date coinage as a low mintage first-year issue. Full head examples are especially tough.

Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, May 28th.
