This week's first highlight selection is an 1875 $5 PCGS Proof 65 DCAM. The finest known example of this rare Proof Half Eagle. From a mintage of just 20 pieces, this coin from the famous Trompeter Proof Gold Collection is virtually flawless. Graded originally as a Proof 66 Ultra Cameo, this example would likely obtain the grade once again, alas it truly doesn't matter as the coin is phenomenal. These rarely trade hands, but the PCGS Price Guide value of $275,000 is indicative of its rarity.
This week's second highlight selection is a 1929 $5 PCGS/CAC MS64+. Due to the limited use in circulation during the post-Depression years, most of the 1929 issues were melted in 1933 when the Gold Recall took effect. This high-end survivor is an absolute blazer and looks like a gem to us. A real treat and the finest that we've handled in years. CAC approved for quality and eye appeal. PCGS+ grade for premium quality at the top of end of the assigned grade.
Of course there are many other highlights, so be sure to browse all lots in this exciting new sale before it closes on Sunday, November 19th.
Thanks for browsing our inventory and participating in our auction!

The David Lawrence Numismatic Team
