Coins We Love: Award-Winning Website!
We’re thrilled to announce that we won the Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG) Award for the Best Dealer Website for 2024! Our programming team of Tyler and Lisandro, along with Andy’s work laying out the content of the site are to be commended! As our most avid readers will know, the changeover to the new website was not without its share of issues, but time and work heal a lot of things and I’m so proud of the group because all of those efforts resulted in our receiving of this award. As they say, it takes a village, and I’m proud of our villagers at DLRC and we will continue to strive towards improving things along the way. So, congrats team!
ANA Update:
This has been the busiest period of the year at DLRC, so we’re excited to report back that the ANA show has indeed been a fantastic event and culmination of all of the work we’ve thrown into the last month. We have a record number of folks (9!) manning our booth and exploring the floor looking for fresh and interesting coins in the typical DLRC-style. Our baseball team is missing a Designated Hitter, but we’re okay with that as we don’t mind our pitchers batting.
To quote a friend of mine who is another one of the largest buyers on the floor, the market seems to be “sneaky strong” and coins are certainly changing hands left and right.
The first two days (Saturday and Sunday) were buying-focused times for us as we bopped from meeting room to meeting room searching for the best coins we could find. Overall, we were thrilled with the coins that we were able to locate. The show opened officially on Monday with a Dealer Day and sales were okay but nothing to write home about. However, the public arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday and sales picked up steadily. The retail really improved the overall feel of the show. As I sit here on Thursday, I get the feeling that it’s continuing to pick up and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the turnout. We’ll add a few photos here as well to give those who weren’t able to attend a small taste of what we’re seeing, but overall, we have to admit we’re quite pleased!
We'll be back next week with more details about the show! For now, we hope you are able to enjoy the wonderful pieces we highlighted below.
Numismatically Yours,
John Brush and the DLRC Show Team
