Coins We Love: Cheers to 19 Years!

Coins We Love: Cheers to 19 Years!

I was listening to a podcast about small businesses on my way to work today, and it reminded me that I’ve now been at DLRC for 19 years. It’s honestly hard to believe it has been that long. As the adage goes, “time flies when you’re having fun”. There have been a lot of people, a lot of stories, and a ton of coins that I’ve gotten to know over those 19 years. I can honestly say, after waking up this morning, that I still enjoy coming to work every day, so thanks to DLRC for 19 years. There are only three folks who have been here longer than me now, but as I’ve said before, we have a wonderful team here, and I truly look forward to the next 19 years.

This week we have a lot of different things going on! Jack is driving around the country visiting other shops, seeing family in Chicago, and hitting the Cincinnati and Blue Ridge shows! So, if you have anything you’d like to talk about in person or a collection you’re looking to sell in one of those general areas, let us know, and we’ll get that set up!

Next week, I’ll be in San Francisco teaching at WCU. For those who have read this before, you know that it is one of my most enjoyable weeks of numismatics. This is the fifth year of the event, and we have a whole new crop of young people coming, so I’m quite excited about all that will entail. If you’re in the San Francisco area and want to meet for a coffee, breakfast, or dinner, let me know! Once that week is over, we will be in full preparation mode for the World’s Fair of Money as we prepare for the cattle drive to Oklahoma City. It’s a little bit later in the calendar this year, but it gives us a little extra time to prepare for the marathon that it is!

As always, we have a ton of new coins and consignments coming through! In our next Red Carpet Rarities Auction, we have a fantastic Doublemint Two Cent Collection that was put together well over a decade ago. And, we will have several other groups in the coming weeks. These are exciting groups that we look forward to speaking with you about in the near future.

Around the Office:

One thing we’ve started in the office is an award for those going “above and beyond” in service at DLRC. The first winner of this Buzz Lightyear Award is our Billing/Shipping Department. We’ve been dealing with some people who have decided that our company dumpster is a great location for their trash, and since it’s locked, they gifted us a lot of rubbish all over the place. Unbeknownst to us, Angeleah and Dylan decided to clean up the space yesterday, so we are taking the department out to lunch. Thanks, folks!

That’s all for us this week! We hope you enjoy the highlights featured below. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about our trash problem, reach out to us!

Numismatically Yours,

John Brush
