Coins We Love - July 5

Happy 4th of July week from DLRC! The office is a little quiet due to yesterday’s holiday, but it’s a welcome change that allows us time to process all the great new customer consignments and Baltimore show purchases. July is also the only month of the year that we do not travel to a national show. So, if you need us, call us! We’ll be available to talk about your collection, our new inventory, the weekly auctions and anything else you have in mind.

This week’s CWL features a few new coins from Baltimore, and some pieces from our inventory that we found interesting. We hope that you find something to peak your interest from this week’s selection. If you do or just feel like chatting with us after viewing the items give us a call or just shoot us an email to let us know how we can help you!

Thanks again for viewing and have a great evening!

Sincerely,
Jason Smith and Your Friends at DLRC

1939-D 10c NGC/CAC MS69 FB *Star*

Why we love it: This is simply the prettiest Mercury Dime we’ve ever handled here at DLRC. The eye appeal is unbelievable and truly captivating as its surfaces are completely free of blemishes and display gorgeous toning with blazing luster beneath it. This rainbow toning features lovely highlights of blue-green, magenta and gold covering the entire coin. This flawless ultra-gem is tied with four others for the finest known in existence graded by NGC in which only two others received an “NGC Star.” If any coin (classic or modern) deserved a truly perfect grade of MS70, this would be the piece!

Value: This is arguably the most beautiful Mercury Dime in existence with its near-perfect condition and incredible, one of a kind color, making it incomparable to any price guide. This piece has already met the reasonable reserve of just $9,975 in this week’s auction, which is a reasonable price point to add this immaculate gem to a high-end registry set or collection of any kind.
