Coins We Love: Live from FUN

This week finds us in sunny (and hot!) Orlando, Florida, at the FUN show. It’s been an incredibly active first few days, and we’ve found a number of new coins in our first two days here, so it’s been a real positive (minus the humidity!). We’re set up here for another two days and are expecting a decent crowd of collectors tomorrow, so we’ll see how it turns out!

In other news, the office is continuously moving coins through the system, new auctions are coming up and we have a few really neat coins to offer this week. One of my favorites in this week’s email is the Mormon $5. It’s fitting that after a week in Colorado teaching (and taking classes), Wes and I made a quick pitstop to visit our partner in Utah. Having mentioned to a friend in Colorado that we were making a quick trip to Salt Lake City, we had a long discussion regarding numismatic history of the area and he notified us of the location of the former mint in Salt Lake City. Oddly enough, it was across the street from what is now a Macy’s, but in the garden near Temple Square. So, Wesley and I had to take a quick selfie next to the former coin birthplace before we headed out to dinner. It’s perfect timing for our first offering in this week’s CWL!

As for the rest of the coins this week, there’s a wide variety of numismatic fun and we hope that you enjoy this week’s offerings!

Numismatically Yours from Sunny Florida,

John Brush

P.S. Thank you for your votes in the ANA Board of Governors election. I was actually voted in once again and I look forward to serving our fellow members for another two years!
