Coins We Love: Summer FUN

The Summer FUN Show in Orlando marks the middle of numismatic's summer season. Overall, the show has gained new legs since the Covid pandemic and has turned into a decent regional event, with enough action to warrant attending. While there are fewer dealers here than some of the more moderate-sized shows, it's still a worthwhile opportunity to search out coins and deals for our upcoming auctions. We sent a skeleton crew to the show, but I think we'll be bit surprised with the wide variety of coins we were able to find.

It’s effectively our last "real" event that we have before the World's Fair of Money in August, so the show's purpose was to hold us over for a little over a month and I think it did the job. There’s nothing really memorable about the purchases so far, but it was nice to reconnect with some old friends that we haven’t seen in quite some time. Several of these people really just show up twice yearly at the FUN Shows, so it’s always nice to visit and rekindle those relationships.

Over at the office, we’re finally back on track — processing high watermark-setting consignment opportunities, with some really neat type coins coming up in our Red Carpet Rarities Auctions. At the same time, we’re getting ready for the aforementioned August show. In tow will be an inventory having neither analog nor precedent, incredible auction highlights on display, among those will be selections from the primary set from The D.L. Hansen Collection. So if you haven’t made your plans yet, we would highly encourage you to check it out, as we will be out in full force at the Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

For now, to close us out, we thank you and wish you a wonderful week. We hope that you enjoy some of this week's Coins We Love and please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can be of service.

Numismatically Yours,

John Brush & Your Friends at DLRC
