Currency We Love: Expanded Currency Offerings @ DLRC!

One of the long-term projects and improvements to our website that we had on our list of goals was to improve our currency listings so we could offer more in this category of numismatics. After several months of working on this, we kicked off the website improvements and have a really neat collection to offer! We were able to obtain a completely fresh-to-the-market group of notes that came to us mostly ungraded and was named the Williamsburg Currency Collection. This large group includes a wide variety of notes: Obsoletes, Silver and Gold Certificates, Fractionals, Confederate Issues, and more! Our first exclusive currency auction will be followed by the Kingsmill Colonial Currency Collection, a substantial group of Colonial Notes closing the following week. Both currency-only auctions are open for bidding now and close on Thursday, June 26th and July 3rd!

These impressive collections boast some outstanding rarities, including:

  • FR. 387b $2 Original (1875) Newark, OH First NB PMG Choice UNC 63EPQ (CH 858)
  • FR. 269 1896 $5 Silver Certificate PMG Choice UNC 63

  • FR. NC-136b,139,138 Dec. 1771 2S/6P-1 Pound-10 Shillings North Carolina Colonial Currency PMG Choice AU58 NET (Uncut Sheet, Corner Tear)

While currency might not be your cup of tea, the artistry and history are really breathtaking and it is worth taking a look at the collections. Personally, I think we all should be thankful that our wallets don’t have to fit Large Size notes in them these days! :) Take a look at our ever-growing list of currency, HERE! We hope that you enjoy the rest of this week’s Coins We Love!

Numismatically Yours,
Andy Jeffrey
