Coins We Love: Happy Leap Day!
Happy Leap Day!
It feels like years since I’ve been able to say that. Yes, that’s today's bad dad joke. I think it’s just the exhaustion of traveling this week! Most of us have made it home from our adventures, except for the team at the Philadelphia PCGS Show. If you’re in that area, stop and visit with Julia and Amandeep tomorrow!
The week has been successful as we picked up a really neat consignment (we’ll announce it in the next week or two), bought a collection of Shipwreck coins, and procured a few coins for inventory from my brief stop in Philadelphia. We’ve traveled over 2,000 miles already this week, so I think we’ll spend a day or two in the office refueling our figurative and literal tanks.
The office has continued to process the typical inventory items and has also focused on photographing the next group of items for our Red Carpet Rarities Sales. This next group is one that we’re really proud of as it highlights some amazing pieces that were fun to describe and catalog.
Of course, tonight we offer up our second Red Carpet Rarities Auction as the Helen’s Quarter Collection Part 2 concludes this evening. The results from last week’s sale were impressive! We were pleased that each coin found a new caretaker for their next phase of life. It’s fun when we can match a coin with a collector who has been waiting so long for a certain date/grade to come up. Whether it’s a top-pop Ike Dollar or an underrated Seated Quarter, we love doing that every day!
As for now, we’ll close out because our plates are a little full this week. If you have any questions or comments, we’re here to help! We appreciate your reading our weekly message and we hope that you enjoy this week’s Coins We Love!
Numismatically Yours,
John Brush and Your Friends at DLRC
