Our first highlight is an 1840 50c PCGS/CAC Proof 63. There is no definitive mintage known, but perhaps six to ten pieces can be identified. Struck for Proof sets to be given to dignitaries and VIPs, this example is an underrated rarity in the world of American numismatics. Lovely and original with light rainbow tones, this piece is sure to please the collector.
This week's second highlight is an 1889-CC $1 PCGS MS63. The 1889 Carson City Morgan is one of the most highly sought key dates in the Morgan dollar series. This example has satiny, lustrous surfaces with light golden tints beneath the surface and is a pretty coin for the grade with very few marks for the grade.
